Situated on the northeast end of a peninsular landmass, you are already under threat from encroaching barbarian tribes, enemy alliances who covet your land, and an arcane brotherhood of supernatural entities who coordinate the efforts to crush your fledgling communities. You have little in the way of natural resources, manpower, or technology; only in the area of magical arts are you even close to equalling the power of the enemy.
